2 New Stills Of Xavier Samuel In "A Few Best Men"

Photobucket

As an orphan, David (Xavier Samuel) wants nothing more than a family of his own. When he falls in love with Australian MIA (Laura Brent), it seems his new life is about to begin. What can go wrong – you know – apart from accidentally collecting kilos of cocaine and abducting the father-of-the-bride's prize Merino sheep?

David and Mia’s wedding is one chaos-filled day that will test their new marriage, challenge his relationships with his three best men, and risk turning what should be the best day of their lives into the worst. Set in the rugged Blue Mountains of Australia, "A Few Best Men" is a hilarious culture clash between his friends and her family because blood is thicker than water, and so are David's mates.

'Twilight' Snubbed in 6 Categories by MTV Movie Awards

Most Twi-Hards today are celebrating the eight nominations received by "Eclipse" from the upcoming 2011 MTV Movie Awards, including Best MovieBest Male (Robert Pattinson AND Taylor Lautner) and Best Female(Kristen Stewart).

There were a whopping six of them in all:
Best Villain, Best Comedic Performance, Best Line From a Movie, Best Jaw-Dropping Moment, Best Scared-As-S**t Performance and Biggest Badass Star.

The most glaring omission is here is that neither Bryce Dallas Howard nor Xavier Samuel were nominated for
Best Villain.

It's not easy taking over a character from another actress -- fans are always going to compare you to the previous version -- but Howard
owned Victoria. And Samuel, he is nominated for Breakout Star, but why not here too?

Then there's
Best Line From a Movie. Perhaps because the first two "Twilight" films gave us so many great lines, the members of the MTV Movies Awards Academy have just come to expect it. What about Edward's line: "Bella, would you please stop trying to take your clothes off?" Not only is that hilarious, it more or less sums up the entire "Twilight Saga" in one sentence.

(**Side note-- I thought Edward saying: "Doesn't he own a shirt?" should have been included as well!) -S-

In the
Best Fight category, Robert Pattinson vs. Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel was nominated, but it's not enough. The Cullens and Wolf Pack versus the Newborn Army should not only have been included, but also gone on to win by unanimous decision. It includes mortal enemies teaming up for the good of Bella. Plus, CGI wolves, decapitation, vampire moves… what more could you want?
Biggest Badass Star should have at least two nominations from "Eclipse." First, obviously, is Robert Pattinson. He took on two vampires at once and managed to save Bella. And Jackson Rathbone should also be included. If he had been, he'd definitely be the dark horse nominee to win. He trained the Cullens and Wolf Pack to fight the Newborns and kicked that Army's a** without flinching.
For Best Scared-As-S**t Performance, you don't think Jodelle Ferland's Bree Tanner was scared-as-s**t watching the Cullens and Wolf Pack take on the Newborns? And as if Bella wasn't totally peeing her pants while Edward battled Victoria and Riley?

Finally, there's
Best Jaw-Dropping Moment. The Jacob and Bella kiss scene should be there. I knew it was coming and my jaw still went slack. I wanted to throw my Coke at the screen and yell "Skank!" but I couldn't. You know why? Because my jaw was dropped so far.

We'll still be watching the ceremony unfold on June 5. Will you?

Xavier Samuel Talks Sharks

E! Online talks to Xavier Samuel about his upcoming movie:

OK, Xavier Samuel didn't exactly come face-to-face with Jaws, but his upcoming flick
Bait 3D sounds like it has the potential of being a guilty pleasure hoot.
"It's about a bunch of people trapped in a supermarket that's flooded," Samuel said earlier this week at the Glamour magazine and Louis Vuitton event in Beverly Hills. "There also happens to be sharks in the water. It's like Snakes on a Plane but with sharks in a supermarket."

Really?

"When I read it, I thought it was a great farce and this hilarious scenario," Samuel said. "I was like, 'This has to be fun to do.' It was great. I was wielding a pump-action shotgun at a mechanical shark and thinking, 'This has nothing to with acting at all.' I had a blast."

Xavier Samuel talks ‘Eclipse’ with MTV Australia

MTV Australia caught up with Twilight: Eclipse baddie Xavier Samuel at the Optus One80Project last week. He talked a little about his Twilight experience.
MTV: Were you ever worried about just being known as the guy who was in ‘Twilight’?
Xavier: That never crossed my mind. I just felt really lucky to be cast in a role that wasn’t your average villain. There was a bit of complexity to this guy, but I never really felt like, I’m going to be playing vampires for the rest of my life!
MTV: Did you feel the pressure acting out such a beloved book and series?
Xavier: Well I felt great about it because when I flicked through the book I was like, where’s Riley?! (laughs) There was like one line, literally one sentence!! I was fortunate in the sense that they decided to depart from Bella’s point of view for the first time – it’s still faithful to the book but it extrapolates other dimensions in it. So there is a kind of degree of expectation and pressure to remain true to a character that is so close to so many people’s hearts. So the pressure’s on, certainly for the characters that have more of a journey. But I think they’ve done an amazing job bringing the books to life.
MTV: Is there any talk about developing Stephanie Myer’s fifth book ‘The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner’? Because you’d obviously be a big part of that…
Xavier: Well I haven’t heard any whispers, but it’s a really cool back story. I remember reading it, David Slade [director of ‘Twilight: Eclipse’] gave me the manuscript of this book, and it really sang to me, and for me it was a great source of information as well as being a great story.

Xavier Samuel talks 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' and 'Bree Tanner'

It's been a while since we've heard anything from Xavier Samuel ("Riley" in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), but this weekend, he spent some time in Sydney, Australia as a presenter for the Optus ONE80PROJECT Awards, and MTV Australia caught up with him to do an interview.

"[W]hen I flicked through the book I was like, where’s Riley? . . .  There was like one line, literally one sentence! I was fortunate in the sense that they decided to depart from Bella’s point of view for the first time - it’s still faithful to the book but it extrapolates other dimensions in it. So there is a kind of degree of expectation and pressure to remain true to a character that is so close to so many people’s hearts. So the pressure’s on, certainly for the characters that have more of a journey. But I think they’ve done an amazing job bringing the books to life."
