Vampire Diaries is off the air until September, and the next film in the Twilight Saga isn't set for release until November, but there is still buzz surrounding both the television and the film, and that buzz is generated by the stars that appear in both. Some of those stars stepped out at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, and one of them was all too willing to talk about the other vampires in attendance.
That star was actress Nina Dobrev, the woman behind both Elena and Katherine on Vampire Diaries. She was stopped at the event on Sunday night, and she took a moment to talk about Twilight. According to MTV News, she said the following: "I think that we're all really happy for each other. I'm very happy that they exist because we exist because of them. Their success is our success. I'm kind of sad the movies are almost over."
Nina also admitted that she is friends with several of the actors in the Twilight films. Twilight did bring new popularity to vampires. True Blood and Vampire Diaries have brought vampires to the small screen successfully, unlike CBS series Moonlight, which ran into bad luck with a writer's strike causing problems for the series, the year it aired.
Vampires are still popular right now, but for how long. With rumors of werewolves becoming the new it thing, series like Vampire Diaries and True Blood will have to find ways to keep fans tuning in. So far, both series are doing that quite well.
