Andrew Garfield is one of the most respected and sought-after young actors working internationally today, and has already been directed by, and starred alongside, some of the greatest names in the industry.

Andrew's career began in theater and in 2006 his performances in Beautiful Thing, The Overwhelming and Burn, Chatroom and Citizenship won him the Milton Shulman Award for Outstanding Newcomer at the Evening Standard Awards and the Jack Tinker Award for Most Promising Newcomer at the Critics Circle Theater Awards. Other notable theater credits include Romeo and Juliet and Kes, for which he received the Most Promising Newcomer Award at the Manchester Evening News Awards in 2004.

Notable screen projects include Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus playing opposite Christopher Plummer, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jude Law and the late Heath Ledger; Spike Jonze's Sundance-hit robot love story I’m Here; Robert Redford’s Lions For Lambs, alongside Redford, Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep; Revolution Films’ Red Riding Trilogy -1974 directed by Julian Jarrold and his unforgettable portrayal of a young ex-con in John Crowley’s Boy A, for which he earned the Best Actor BAFTA in 2008.

In September 2010, Andrew was seen opposite Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan in Mark Romanek’s Never Let Me Go. The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival, screened at the Toronto Film Festival and opened the London Film Festival. Based on Kazuo Ishiguro's 2005 novel of the same name, it follows the story of Kathy, Ruth, and Tommy, played by Carey, Keira and Andrew. The three, who become entangled in a love triangle, are scientific specimens created in a laboratory to provide their organs to severely ill patients. Andrew’s portrayal of Tommy gained him much critical acclaim. Mark Adams of Screen Daily said of his performance ‘Andrew Garfield is quirkily feisty as the slightly touched Tommy [and] he is never less than watchable’. Jay Fernandez of The Hollywood Reporter said ‘Garfield is very good in playing an odd, somewhat dim but still heartbreaking character’, while Stephen Farber also of The Hollywood Reporter said ‘Garfield plays his more simple-minded character with such marvelous expressiveness’.

Andrew was next seen opposite Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Timberlake in David Fincher's multi-award winning The Social Network, which told the story of the founding of Facebook and the resulting lawsuits. Andrew played Eduardo Saverin, best friend of Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jesse Eisenberg and again his performance was highly praised by audience and critics alike. Pete Hammond of Deadline Hollywood said ‘(Andrew) steals The Social Network’, while Betsy Sharkey of the LA Times said ‘Andrew Garfield is exceptional as Zuckerberg’s best friend’ and Claudia Puig of USA Today said ‘Garfield is terrific, conveying Saverin’s palpable sense of betrayal’.

Andrew’s memorable 2010 performances earned him a number of award nominations and wins. For his combined work in The Social Network and Never Let Me Go, he won the Hollywood Award for Breakthrough Actor and the Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Actor and he was also nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award. For Never Let Me Go he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the British Independent Film Awards, and for The Social Network he won Best British Supporting Actor at the London Film Critics Circle Awards and was nominated at the BAFTA Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actor.

Andrew recently completed filming the lead role of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man. Directed by Marc Webb, Andrew’s co-stars include Emma Stone, Martin Sheen and Rhys Ifans. The film is slated for a July 2012 release.
