Nikki Reed had some big news to share on today's MTV Movie Awards red carpet — she's engaged to American Idol's Paul McDonald! The two posed together as they headed into the show, where her Breaking Dawn costars will be debuting the first trailer for their movie. Paul kept things casual with his usual bolo tie, while she kept it sexy. Nikki and Paul started dating in the Spring after meeting through Idol. Nikki Reed to Appear at 2011 Much Music Awards
Toronto, ON (June 3, 2011) – MuchMusic rolls out the red carpet for the latest guests set to attend the biggest celeb-bash in Canada, the 2011 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS. The hottest stars from music, film and TV make their way to Toronto for the surreal event. Added to the previously-announced killer list of performers are Down With Webster, Far East Movement ft. Dev, Fefe Dobson, and Simple Plan. And OMFG! – Cody Simpson, THE BIG BANG THEORY’s Johnny Galecki, LMFAO, and the cast of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES are amongst a list of presenters also confirmed to appear live from MuchMusic HQ. The party goes down Sunday, June 19 at 9 p.m. ET airing live on MuchMusic and MuchHD in Canada and FUSE in the U.S., with the MMVAs RED CARPET SPECIAL at 8 p.m. ET/PT.See below for full performers’ bios.

Twilight's Nikki Reed and her main man, Paul McDonald, headed to Las Vegas for the weekend to get a jump start on her 23rd birthday. The pair kicked off Friday night with a trip to the Sugar Factory, where Nikki stocked up on candy, and later hit the Gallery Nightclub at Planet Hollywood. Nikki indulged in additional dessert there with her pink and white cake, and Paul added more sweetness with hugs and kisses. Sin City is the latest stop for Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald, who got cozy while watching American Idol last week and also took in a Prince concert together. Nikki's actual birthday is tomorrow, just a few days after her Breaking Dawn costar Robert Pattinson's milestone 25th.

Paul McDonald Confirms Relationship with Nikki Reed
Paul McDonald will be okay.
Yes, the funky singer got eliminated from American Idol this week. But the aspiring artist has confirmed that he has a famous, beautiful woman to go home to each night. Yes, he really is dating Nikki Reed.
"[She's] supercool," McDonald told Us Weekly of the Twilight star. "She's been real supportive of this whole thing. She's actually pumped up now because she likes my original material way better than all the stuff I do on the show."
Paul says he and Nikki are "officially dating," but "don't get to see each other too much because [we're] both working so hard."
Is there another Idol/Twilight love connection? Is Lauren Alaina getting it on with Taylor Lautner, as some sources have reported? McDonald has no clue.
"I don't know. I think he's just a fan of Idol in general. He seems like a really cool dude. I don't know too much about that."

We’ve long given up on watching Idol, so we have no idea if this dude is the next big thing or the next Blake Lewis. Either way, he’s kinda already won by landing Nikki. The two met at the premiere of Red Riding Hood – McDonald was there with the Idol crew, Nikki was supporting Twilight director and pal Catherine Hardwicke. Nikki actually approached McDonald, introduced herself, gushed and then awkwardly ran away, leaving McDonald to declare, “Was she a famous actress or something? I’d hang out with her.”
