Logan Lerman is glad that Andrew landed the Spidey role

Logan Lerman, the former contender of Spider-Man / Peter Parker role before Andrew was chosen to be one, expressed his opinion about the newly selected web slinger and that he is glad Andrew has to do the job. Details and video from MTV are below:

Before Sony decided that Andrew Garfield would don the mantle of Peter Parker in July 2012's "The Amazing Spider-Man," there were a number of buzz-worthy actors in the running to fill the hero's webbed underoos including "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" star Logan Lerman.

Though the 19-year-old actor didn't wind up with the wall-crawling role, he came closer than many other prominent contenders. At one point he was even cited as a near certainty. MTV news caught up with Lerman at this past weekend's WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco and picked his brain to see if he felt like he was missing out on playing Marvel's renowned Web-slinger.

"I was so glad that Andrew Garfield got it. Just because he's an awesome actor," said Lerman, "I mean as long as they give it to someone who is, you know, worthy of having that opportunity it always works out well. And I'm always happy to see when good actors get good parts."

Aww isn't he really sweet? Catch Logan on this year's remake of "The Three Musketeers" out in August!
