The mansion located in the "Saco do Mamanguá" in Paraty, which served as the set for filming of the saga of Twilight, the movie "Breaking Dawn"can be break down. According to information from INEA (State Institute of Environment), the owner of the mansion has been notified about the illegal construction done in an environmentally protected area in the "Ecological Reserve of Guatinga (REG)."
The demolition process has started by INEA and awaits court decision.
"As with others residences in the Saco do Mamanguá", the owner of this house has already been notified and has already received several fines. The demolition request is being tried in court" said Daniela Pires, director of"Biodiversity and Protected Areas of INEA".
According INEA, the directors and the crew of the "Breaking Dawn" just requested permission to shooting within the "Ecological Reserve of Guatinga (REG)", not inside the house built illegally.
"We gave permission to shoot inside the reserve, and didn't know where they would do the filming. Anyway, we hope that the process culminating in the demolition of this residence, which is most likely in these cases. This house is next" Daniela said.
The owner received eight fines, amounting to $17 thousand dollars each. After of several resources, the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro requested in 2008 that he would demolish the house. However, nothing was done, the court ordered the state to the demolition, and that the costs were by the owner.
"Weren't wanted to get this point. But it warned over and over again, apart the fines and injunctions, but he continued with construction anyway. Already 10 years we were warned, and he would not listen. So we had no choice unless the demolition" explained Daniela Pires.
